I Don't Particularly Like Yeats

Posted by Sara Emeli Amber on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, In : drama
(He's a very famous poet, if you didn't know.)
Why, you ask? Let me guess: I like poetry, so I must like Yeats.
Wrong.
For one thing, his poetry isn't that phenomenal. And non-phenomenal poetry is a forgivable fault in most people, but not in poets, and especially not in poets well-known for their phenomenal poetry. If he has such a title, he should have earned it.
There's a more personal level, though. It's not just that his poetry doesn't suit my fancy.
He was pretty much a jerk.

The Heart Cannot Replace the Brain

Posted by Sara Emeli Amber on Sunday, November 25, 2012, In : drama
Hearts feel nothing. They think nothing. They beat blood, day in and day out, until you die. Don't base decisions on them. Or anything else, for that matter. Except your blood. You can base your blood on your heart, or at least your heart beat. Things of an anatomical nature can be based on your heart. Post del Facto

Posted by Sara Emeli Amber on Friday, September 28, 2012, In : drama
I thought I was an open book, but I'm not.  If I am a book, and an open one at that, then I am a book so heavily encrypted that I can't even read myself.  I'm finding out that I'm not as mature as a had previously believed myself to be.  I am simply a practical and logical head covered by a pretty face and an ever-present smile, all covering retardedly juvenile emotions, which I have no idea what to do with.  I really am happy for you, and yet I find myself very much unhappy for myself.  I'd ...

Masks

He had blue skin,
So did she;
He kept it hidden,
So did she.
They searched for blue
Their whole lives through,
Then passed right by-
And never knew.

I'm kinda sick of people hiding stuff. I mean, what's the point? It's not like it's going to stay under wraps forever. Eventually people will find out that you're depressed, or a crackhead, or in love. 'A little lie is like a little pregnancy: it's not long before everyone knows' (C.S.Lewis). Stop hiding. Odds are, you're not fooling anyone, le...
